The Portuguese Atlantic city of Porto played host to both the 6th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference and the Interreg Atlantic Area Annual Event 12th – 13th November 2019.
MOSES partners from CIIMAR in Portugal and SEMRU, NUI Galway in Ireland took part in the events.
The partners heard from a number of speakers on topics such as the challenges facing ports, blue growth and marine spatial planning. These issues and others will inform the Commission as the EU continues its revisions of the Atlantic Action Plan. Partners from MOSES also participated in the SIMAtlantic project workshop related to marine spatial planning, discussing some of the tools member states may use to achieve pathway to sustainable Blue Growth.
At the Interreg Atlantic Area Annual Event, MOSES project partners joined a number of other speakers, with a very interesting contribution on EU regional development by Guus Muijzers. Additionally work was presented from a number of Interreg funded projects and the event also allowed networking between MOSES partners and other Interreg projects.
